The Area
Plum Island is a barrier island off the northern coast of
Massachusetts where the Parker River and the
Merrimack River flow into the Gulf of Maine. It contains a
mix of summer and year-round residences, the Parker
River National Wildlife Refuge, and Sandy Point State Park.

Plum Island is split between Newburyport, Newbury,
Rowley, and Ipswich. Newburyport is best known as the
Oldest and most historic seaport, and as shipbuilding
center in days gone by. It's a pretty cool place to visit in its
own right. Some absolutely incredible Restaurants !

The island is best known as an outstanding birding spot.
It's a stop off on many  migration paths. Birders come
from all over the world to experience this area on Plum
Island.

Kayaking has become one of the most enjoyable and
popular Sports on Plum Island and the surrounding Basin
waters, and inland water areas.  Many of the Rental
houses in  Plum Island Beach Rentals, are on the Basin
Waterfront area, and you have direct access to the water
for any activity including a beautiful sandy beach, low and
high tides create beautiful views day and night.

Some of the most beautiful sunsets are from this side.
As well as Fishing , either by small boat from the beach or
on the jetty area at the mouth of the river.
